When one door closes another opens. But we often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door that we fail to see the one that has opened for us. Alexander Graham Bell

The above quote is something that many of us have experienced. When a door closes in our lives it is very difficult to turn our focus away from the appearances and look for the open door. Many of us will bang and kick on the closed door, until will are exhausted, trying to get it to open back up. Some of us will insist that the door is not really closed but just stuck and begin to oil the hinges. There are even some that will decide that they have the wrong key, and begin to search everywhere to reopen the door looking for someone or something to make the situation disappear. Very few are successful in their attempts, and the pain, sadness, and guilt of the closed door often times leaves us feeling very vulnerable.

A closed door brings up feelings of fear because it is indicative of change; a change that we may not be able to control. For many of us change also implies that we will have to sacrifice something that has value for us. Even with the knowledge that there may be and or is a new door that has opened, we don’t trust what the change will bring. The old door may have held many painful experiences but if nothing else they were familiar. The newly opened door may feel intimating because we don’t know exactly where that door will lead. So even if we have accepted the closed door we often don’t run through it but instead park ourselves in front of it as we peek around the doorframe to see what might be there.

I have to wonder why, when so many of us pray for change that change is so frightening to us. I wonder why, when without change we could never truly manifest what we want. I wonder why spiritual beings have so little trust in a Universe that will love them enough to provide abundant support. I wonder why we insist on denying the core and essence of our being and instead become willing victims to circumstances that are within our means to change. Exactly how does this serve or support our belief in what we are? What are we? I believe that we are children of a loving Source that gave us everything at the moment of our Creation. So how do we begin to act upon what we are?

When a door closes, get over it! The only thing that has been lost is your limited ideas about yourself, your circumstances and your right to everything. Get ready for expansion:

1. Every problem inherently holds the solution to that problem. So get over it! Stop focusing on the problem and begin to behold the solution.

2. If you can hold an idea in your mind then you are greater than the idea. So get over it! There is no thought that is greater than what you are.

3. Just because a situation appears to be negative doesn’t mean anything unless you accept the fact and make it yours. So get over it! An appearance is not the truth/reality so look beyond the appearance for your answer.

4. An open door can be frightening but you’ll never know unless you go through it. So get over it! The unfamiliar can bring up feelings of anxiety, although the feelings of anxiety and adventure often feel the same. Which will you choose for?

5. Change can often leave you feeling alone, unloved and undeserving. So get over it! You are never alone. Your Source is always present, “nearer than hands and feet, closer than your breath”. So rather than moaning about the appearing circumstances give thanks that your answers are manifested now!

6. The open door is a request that you have made to experience more of what you want from life. When you feel as though you have lost something precious in the closing of the previous door, get over it! The new door holds more than you can possibly realize until you go through it.

We know so little. If we knew more we wouldn’t be so reluctant to experience our immense potential and power. Perhaps it is necessary to begin practicing what we are until we fully understand the what of ourselves. In the practicing we begin to experience all of the wonders that are available to us just by the choosing. So lets’ get over all of our perceived limitations, walk through that open door and begin!

Many Blessings,

Danielle
