Recognize that you have the courage within you to fulfill the purpose of your birth. Summon forth the power of your inner courage and live the life of your dreams. Gurumayi Chidvilasananda

What is courage? Webster defines it as the attitude (manner of acting, feeling or thinking), of facing and dealing with anything recognized as dangerous, difficult, or painful. It does take courage to live the life of your dreams. It often means that you operate outside of the standard/acceptable tradition and mores that you have been taught. Living courageously calls for standing in your integrity even though it would be easier to just “go along” with what is called for, expected. Living courageously doesn’t call for aggression, or overt conquest, or convincing some else to see things your way. But it does call for an attitude…an attitude of acting, feeling and thinking that your dream is not only possible, that it is achievable. An attitude that you hold that emanates success.

But courage dictates that you must be willing to give up anonymity in order to live your dream. Anonymity is an attitude of hiding, of diminishing your radiance, of pretending to be something that you are not. Successful living is not done with this attitude. This courage is within you…it is part of your being. How can you not live what you are? How can you deny yourself the quality of life that courage will bring into you? Why would you want to?

What was the purpose of your birth? Many do not know their purpose, but most feel that they have something here to do…something that will help others and benefit mankind. Very often purpose and mission have become almost the same idea. I feel that we all come with a purpose but all of us may not come with a mission. I feel that our purpose in life is to live “alive”. To be that curious, creative, vibrant, radiant, joyful, peaceful being, that God created. To be one with the abundance and beauty of our planet and to give back what we have received.
If you feel you came with a mission but still don’t quite know what? Then how about doing some research. Talk to others about what they do. Go to the library and look at the many wonderful and varied occupations available. Or sit in Meditation and open your heart to your answer. Search your own heart and find your desires and then begin the steps to fulfill them.

Many have said that they are afraid that they will choose wrongly, or that they know what their mission is but it doesn’t seem as though it will support them. There are many reasons that people will offer as to why they are not living their mission or dream. But I say, stop living the reasons that you think you will fail, instead live the life you were meant to live!
How to begin?

Sit down quietly and spend some time thinking about your life. If, there are areas of your life that no longer feel good, then write them down. Now suppose there was an opposite way of living …to have more of what you think would feel better than what you have now…write those down opposite to those that you originally wrote. From here write your goals and desires. Life is often discovered in the contradictions…the opposites…the infinite possibilities. Look for them.

Make your own affirmation using your own words. Be sure and use words that have meaning for you. If the word pretty is nice, and beauty feels awesome then use the word beauty.

Make a plan of action. The above actions are meaningless unless you are willing to act on the ideas you have received. Grenville Kleiser suggests that you make the most of today: translate your good intentions into actual deeds.

Many of our fears are tissue-paper-thin, and a single courageous step would carry us clear through them. – Brendan Frandon

Let go of all the preconceived ideas of failure. Failure is no more than an oops in achieving what you want. With each oops we become wiser, more mature and more capable and more willing to live the life we want. Live your courage courageously! Act as if all of your desires are yours now. Soon they will be! Give thanks for the wonderful abundance of all things present in your life.

We are asked now to live our dreams, to fulfill our missions, to live our lives alive. Let us live them fearlessly!
Be Blessed,

Danielle
